Details

Our American Wagyu hot dogs start with 100% American Wagyu beef, prized for exceptional marbling and richer flavor than traditional beef. Seasoned with our signature spice blend and slowly smoked over hardwood, they deliver bold, savory flavor with a firm, snappy bite.

Each hot dog is wrapped in a natural casing that pops when cooked, what old-school frank lovers call a splitter. Whether you grill them until the casing stays intact or let it split open, SRF Wagyu™ hot dogs deliver bold flavor and that signature snap in every bite.

Each package contains 1 lb.

Cooking Tips

Cooking Tips: SRF American Wagyu hot dogs are fully cooked and skin-on. There are two ways to cook them depending on how you like your hot dog.

The Slow Grill (skin intact)
Set your grill to medium. Once up to temperature, place hot dogs on the grill. As soon as the dogs start to brown, rotate a quarter turn. Continue turning until the outside develops a nice crust and the internal temperature reaches 150°F. Remove from the grill and serve.

The Splitter
Set your grill to medium. Once up to temperature, place hot dogs on the grill and rotate as they brown. When the outside has developed a crust and the internal temperature reaches 140 to 145°F, turn up the heat to medium high and let the dogs cook until they split. Remove from the grill split side up to keep the juices in and serve.

For a deeper dive on both methods see our complete guide to cooking SRF hot dogs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is in a hot dog?

Recognized as America's premier gourmet hot dog, Snake River Farms American Wagyu hot dogs are crafted from 100% American Wagyu beef combined with a signature blend of spices, then slowly smoked with authentic hardwood.

What is the Snake River Farms Guarantee?

We guarantee that your order will deliver frozen or partially frozen with all items included to the provided address. If you have any concerns or issues with your order, please don't hesitate to reach out to our team. As our founder Robert Rebholtz, Sr. said, "We want our customers to want to do business with us."

What is an American Wagyu Hot Dog?

American Wagyu is purebred Japanese Wagyu crossbred with high quality American cattle breeds. The result is beef with rich marbling, buttery texture and aroma and savory umami with the hearty beef flavor preferred by American palates.

In a hot dog, that marbling translates to bold, savory flavor and a juiciness that sets SRF Wagyu hot dogs apart from standard franks.

What is a splitter?

A splitter is what happens when a skin-on hot dog is cooked over high heat until the casing splits open. The split creates crispy ridges and natural pockets for condiments. It's a traditional preparation style popular on the East Coast and works especially well with SRF Wagyu hot dogs because of the firm natural casing. See our complete guide to cooking SRF hot dogs for both the splitter and slow grill methods.

How do you cook wagyu hot dogs?

There are two methods. For the slow grill with skin intact, set your grill to medium, place the dogs on the grill and rotate a quarter turn as they brown. Cook until the outside develops a crust and the internal temperature reaches 150°F. For a splitter, follow the same steps until the casing starts to pop then turn up the heat to medium high and cook until the dog splits. Remove split side up to keep the juices in.

What temperature should I cook wagyu hot dogs?

150°F is the sweet spot. SRF tested hot dogs at 130, 140, 150 and 160°F. At 150°F the flavor was most pronounced and the hot dog was still juicy. Above 160°F the texture becomes noticeably tougher and the juiciness drops off. Use an instant read thermometer for best results.

Are wagyu hot dogs fully cooked?

Yes. SRF American Wagyu hot dogs are fully cooked. Heating them on the grill or stovetop develops the crust and flavor rather than cooking them through. For best flavor and texture, heat to an internal temperature of 150°F.
