Porterhouse Steak

What is Porterhouse steak? Porterhouse is a true steak lover’s steak. This is a generous cut that is a favorite of serious beef fans everywhere. This generous cut is “two steaks in one” since it contains both a tender filet mignon and a meaty New York strip. Highly marbled for a rich beefy flavor our Porterhouse steak is juicy whether prepared on the grill or pan seared in the kitchen. This bountiful Porterhouse steak is about 1.5 pounds and will make short work of the biggest appetites at your dinner table.

Steak Temperature Guide

Here are the magic numbers you’ll need to determine when your steak is cooked to the degree of doneness you most prefer. The internal temp is when the steak should be removed from the heat. The steak will continue to cook so the temperature will rise during the rest period.

Preference Description Internal Temp
Rare Red center, very cool 110°F
Medium Rare Red, warm center 120°F
Medium Pink throughout 130°F
Medium Well Pink center 140°F
Well No pink Not recommended

*Consuming raw or undercooked meats may increase your risk of foodborne illness. The USDA recommends an internal temp of 145°F and resting for at least 3 minutes.

  • I won’t order again

I’ve had two of these steaks, I defrost and cook within 24hrs and they smell and taste old. They arrived frozen.

  • Wicked good

This is my guilty pleasure. I ordered the porterhouse steak just as my wife went to visit her grandmother. The only way to describe the steak after I cooked on the grill just the way I like it and did not have to share it is WICKED GOOD! I cant wait until she goes away again :)

  • Fantastic

I sent my niece steaks and she was all smiles. She and her boyfriend said the meat just melts in their mouths.

  • Still licking my chops

BBQ this bad boy, and I’ve got to say this was the BEST steak I’ve ever had.... we dry rub it with our special blend. It literally melted in my mouth.
I’m a big beef eater....so to say this was the best steak I’ve ever had, is HUGE! Looking forward to trying the wagyu porter house....
