Kurobuta is the Japanese term for “black hog” and refers to animals of the Berkshire variety, a heritage breed. Kurobuta pork is highly marbled with a beautiful dark color, firm texture, and naturally delicious flavor. The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries mandates that pork designated as “Kurobuta” must consist of 100% Berkshire animals. Snake River Farms gourmet hams strictly adhere to this requirement. Our animals are treated humanely and are raised on small family farms without hormones using a natural slow feed process.

    This ham is extremely tender. I have ordered it multiple times, and we have enjoyed it through the very last morsel in leftovers such as macaroni and cheese and morning omelets.

  • Always a hit!

    This is the third time I've ordered SRF small ham for a holiday meal, and the first to try bone-in. Wish we had more yummy leftovers, but my family devours it in one sitting. Maybe I need to upgrade to larger size next year.

    Best ham I've ever had. Everyone loved it. It was not salty as some hams are.

  • Bone-in Ham

    I got the small bone-in ham and followed the cooking directions.
    It was wonderful. My son was carving it for Christmas Eve dinner and I was afraid there wouldn't be enough to take to the table -- he kept sneaking pieces and muttering about "this is the best ham I've ever eaten".

  • Skirt Steak

    The Outside Skirt Steak, which I prepared on the grill this evening 1/3/19, cooked perfectly to a medium to medium rare was OUTSTANDING!! With over 40 years in the restaurant business. To be more precise, primarily fine steak houses, this cut of meat had the color, flavor and texture of meats I remember long ago!! Some trimming of loin was necessary but not unexpected.
    Fabulous product!
