Our American Kurobuta pork shanks are fully cooked and ready to create quick and easy home-style meals. We start with rich and flavorful Kurobuta pork shanks and sous vide cook them in rich pork broth and seasonings to create a savory sauce. Contains two, sealed pouches with a fully cooked pork shank and savory sauce. Average weight: 1.2 lbs per pouch.

 

Description

Serve delicious meals in minutes with Kurobuta pork shanks, fully cooked and sealed with a savory sauce in a heat resistant package. These are our classic American Kurobuta pork shanks, but pre-cooked using the sous vide process. Simply thaw and heat in a pot of boiling water, a sous vide immersion circulator or even a microwave oven. Once fully heated, plate, cover with the sauce and serve. Delicious with mashed potatoes, rice, couscous or polenta. Add your favorite vegetable for a quick, gourmet meal. Includes two fully cooked, individually sealed Kurobuta pork shanks in sauce. Each package weighs about 1.2 lbs.

PREPARATION

For sous vide, set immersion circulator to 145°F. Cook thawed pork shanks for 1 hour. Cook frozen shanks for 2 hours.

For boil-in-bag, immerse thawed pork shank in boiling water, reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 45 minutes. Cook frozen shanks for 2 hours.

For microwave, thaw pork shank. Cut a 1" slit in the package, place on a plate and cook on HIGH for 7. 5 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes. Carefully open pouch and pour contents on a serving dish.

This product (pork shank and sauce) is gluten free and does not contain milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame or soybean allergens. 

Kurobuta Pork Shank, Seasoning (Salt, Black Pepper, Smoked Paprika, <1% Canola Oil and Silica Gel as a Manufacturing Aid), Modified Food Starch, Pork Flavor Broth Concentrate (Pork Stock, Salt, Yeast Extract, Natural Flavor, and Sugar).

The pork shank comes the hind leg of the hog. The lean and fat is slightly frenched so that the shank bone is visible. This cut has a high content of connective tissue which breaks down after slow cooking to produce meat that is extremely juicy and flavorful.

Fast fact: The meat on the shank is more lean than other cuts because this is an area that does a significant amount of work
