Steak Temperature Guide

Here are the magic numbers you’ll need to determine when your steak is cooked to the degree of doneness you most prefer. The internal temp is when the steak should be removed from the heat. The steak will continue to cook so the temperature will rise during the rest period.

Preference Description Internal Temp
Rare Red center, very cool 110°F
Medium Rare Red, warm center 120°F
Medium Pink throughout 130°F
Medium Well Pink center 140°F
Well No pink Not recommended

*Consuming raw or undercooked meats may increase your risk of foodborne illness. The USDA recommends an internal temp of 145°F and resting for at least 3 minutes.

    I gave this to a friend he had his family over for dinner. When they unpacked the steak it seemed to get larger. We cook the tomahawk in cast iron FINEX pan to sear it. Then in the oven after resting it for 10 minutes .we sliced it and everyone just was blown away it was outstanding .

  • One of best steaks ever had and best I ever cooked

    About a month before ordering for my birthday, I was in Las Vegas and ate wagyu at both Bazaar Meat by José Andrés and SW Steakhouse. This steak as as good as any I experienced at those restaurants. Chunk of amazing meet with the "hawk" bone makes an amazing presentation for special occaision (Like "FRIDAY!"). I was hesitant to order because price seemed too low for anything that would be quality. But steak far exceeded expectations. Worth twice as much as what paid. Came very very well packaged and could have sat on hot porch for hours with out issues. Outstanding experience.

  • Tomahawk Ribeye

    Received a gift certificate for my birthday and decided to splurge on this monster. 24-hour dry salt brine on all sides and then reverse sear on the Primo. The best piece of ribeye that I have ever tasted, but it was just too big for one person. That being said it was still great when I warmed it up two days later. You will not regret buying the Tomahawk!

    This was easily one of the best steaks you could wish to have , it feeds more than you think and reverse searing is the way to go . Will fall apart and melt in your mouth . Worth every penny and will definitely be had again .
