Steak Temperature Guide

Here are the magic numbers you’ll need to determine when your steak is cooked to the degree of doneness you most prefer. The internal temp is when the steak should be removed from the heat. The steak will continue to cook so the temperature will rise during the rest period.

Preference Description Internal Temp
Rare Red center, very cool 110°F
Medium Rare Red, warm center 120°F
Medium Pink throughout 130°F
Medium Well Pink center 140°F
Well No pink Not recommended

*Consuming raw or undercooked meats may increase your risk of foodborne illness. The USDA recommends an internal temp of 145°F and resting for at least 3 minutes.

    This was the first steak from SRF that I wasn't 100% satisfied with and I have ordered a very wide assortment over the last year or two. I had been saving the Tomahawk for a special occasion. I may have gotten an unlucky cut, but it was incredibly fatty throughout. From a 50oz steak, we probably had about a pound of meat after trimming. I understand some level of fat is expected, but this did not seem normal. That said, what was remaining was excellent as it always is with SRF. If you're on the fence about ordering, I'd still recommend it but just know that the cuts may vary!

    I ordered two tomahawks for my boyfriend and I. They were delivered still frozen and massive! These steaks were beyond amazing. Such a rich flavor, juicy and tender all the way through. We definitely plan on ordering them again!

    This was amazing! Best steak I've ever had and now my husband's all time favorite too. We loved it so much we ordered 2 more for us and 1 for my brother to try.

  • Why Wet Aged?

    A dry aged steak is far superior to a wet aged one.. that is why I only gave it a '3'
    Dry age loses more weight over time adding to the cost (due to loss of weight) but the results are over the top.
