Steak Temperature Guide

Here are the magic numbers you’ll need to determine when your steak is cooked to the degree of doneness you most prefer. The internal temp is when the steak should be removed from the heat. The steak will continue to cook so the temperature will rise during the rest period.

Medium Rare Red, warm center 120°F
Medium Pink throughout 130°F
Medium Well Pink center 140°F
Well No pink Not recommended

*Consuming raw or undercooked meats may increase your risk of foodborne illness. The USDA recommends an internal temp of 145°F and resting for at least 3 minutes.

  • Wow! Not that great!

    I let this steak defrost overnight and then I salted it 12 hours prior to cooking. I didn't sous vide because it was only a 6oz. I grilled this to a medium rare and I was not impressed by taste or texture. I purposely purchased an inferior cut because this was supposed to be wagyu. I may have to try the ribeye to get that marbled flavor.

  • Very good top Sirloins

    A glitch in the system helped me order them. My taste buds will make me come back. Keep in mind I live on a small beef farm. Free range, grass fed cattle. I have 150lbs of beef in a commercial grade freezer. That said or steaks are pretty lean. No grain finish or aging process. When we want a "decent" steak, we usually go to a proper steak house. But free the ordering process was so good, I decided to check out Snake River Farms offerings. Amazing taste! Tender, tasty and pretty! We will order again!

  • excellent product

    This was the steak my daughter asked for when I put together a gift box - she said it was the best sirloin she had ever had. Worth the price for someone important to you
