Snake River Farms, producer of high quality meat, introduces Kurizo, made from 100 percent pure all-natural Kurobuta pork-prized in Japan- from Berkshire pigs. In this instance, the Kurobuta pork is prepared in the traditional Basque style of chorizo. Kurobuta pork is known for its small, fine streaks of marbling that are said to ensure the meat's taste and tenderness. The Kurobuta pork is also why Snake River Farms Kurizo sausages retain more moisture after cooking than regular chorizo. The meat is fully cured and coarsely cut, then flavored with dried red pepper that promotes the reddish color of the product. Chorizos are eaten simply sliced, sautéed, or added to soups, stew, omelets, potatoes and bean dishes. Their beef last year was memorable, and this year was no disappointment. I loved the chorizo, and used it in recipes and by itself. The meat was the perfect spiciness and tasted like high quality pork. I enjoyed it immensely. Joan: Kurizo inspired me to make a paella-style dish, which was a huge hit with family and friends. The Kurizo made the dish, truly, because it has an excellent balance of spices and quality sausage. Already trusted with Snake River brands, so I wasn't worried about quality. I just wasn't sure if the taste would be there; it was, along with texture. Nick: As is the case with most products, the packaging got to me first. There's nothing special about it, but the choice of the front with a gold and black label makes you feel like you're eating a quality product at first sight. So I went into this experience assuming the product was going to meet my expectations. |
