Steak Temperature Guide

Here are the magic numbers you’ll need to determine when your steak is cooked to the degree of doneness you most prefer. The internal temp is when the steak should be removed from the heat. The steak will continue to cook so the temperature will rise during the rest period.

Rare Red center, very cool 110°F
Medium Rare Red, warm center 120°F
Medium Pink throughout 130°F
Medium Well Pink center 140°F
Well No pink Not recommended

  • Worth Every Penny

    Reverse seared this almost 3 pound beast. Indirect grilled to 125 degrees and then seared over direct heat to 140. This family of 4 left only a dry bone behind as evidence.

    Treat yourself to this one. You will NOT be disappointed. A++

  • Not so Great

    Hi - I purchased these steaks for Father's Day, and when I thawed the the first one (second still in freezer) the package was torn and actually leaked onto the plate as it thawed. When I removed the packaging, the steak was discolored (my husband took a picture if you'd like it). There was no way I severed the package opening the box. We cooked it and ate it anyhow because of event. We did not get sick. It was however, a tad embarrassing for Fathers Day. The ground beef was not severed but partially brown after thawing. I only think this is odd because I freeze meat all the time from my local butcher.

  • My Favorite Steak

    With the thickness of these steaks, I actually smoke them for about 45min (depending on the weight) then finish them off on the grill over the firebox. Once again, this has become my favorite steak and I have been buying them for over three years now and will continue to be a customer!!
