When the occasion calls for a smaller amount of our delicious savory ham, reach for a Snake River Farms Kurobuta Ham Steak. Our Kurobuta Ham Steaks are cut from full sized bone-in hams so they share all the same delicious smokey flavor that only comes from our time-honored curing methods. Each Ham Steak is individually wrapped for convenience and no waste. 

Kurobuta is the Japanese term for “black hog” and refers to animals of the Berkshire variety, a heritage breed. Kurobuta pork is highly marbled with a beautiful dark color, firm texture, and naturally delicious flavor. The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries mandates that pork designated as “Kurobuta” must consist of 100% Berkshire animals. Snake River Farms gourmet hams strictly adhere to this requirement. Our animals are treated humanely and are raised on small family farms without hormones using a natural slow feed process.

  • Water/mealy Ham does not make a good breakfasts

    I bought 5 ham steaks based on how much I love their Ribeye steaks, the first 2 were hard to brown in a smoking hot pan. I have 3 more to test will try to get the water out better next time. If it's better I will revise my post.

  • Watery ham steak

    There was so much water in the meat that it was difficult to brown. The texture was grainy and the flavor lacking, terrible.

    This ham took me back to when I was younger. The taste was exact. I loved it so much, I made 3 meals out of it. Thanks for allowing me to experience it without buying the whole ham.

  • Ham Steak

    Thawed in the refrigerator. Tried reheating in a skillet and in the oven. In both instances, the ham's texture was vey mealy.

  • Awesome Ham Steaks

    The very first thing I liked about these steaks, is they are not salty. If you have ever bought Ham Steaks before they tend to be too salty, not these. Excellent
