Snake River Farms Sirloin Steak

Sirloin is arguably the most well known steak and is frequently a restaurant special because of its meaty flavor and great value. Our filets are cut from the top sirloin, a large boneless lean portion which many consider superior to the bottom sirloin. Snake River Farms top sirloin steak is well flavored, lean and feature the moderate tenderness that is the hallmark of sirloin cuts. These sirloin steaks are extremely versatile for either steak or sirloin tips, and are an ideal choice for your favorite marinades or prepared straight-up on the grill.

Steak Temperature Guide

Here are the magic numbers you’ll need to determine when your steak is cooked to the degree of doneness you most prefer. The internal temp is when the steak should be removed from the heat. The steak will continue to cook so the temperature will rise during the rest period.

Preference Description Internal Temp
Rare Red center, very cool 110°F
Medium Rare Red, warm center 120°F
Medium Pink throughout 130°F
Medium Well Pink center 140°F
Well No pink Not recommended

*Consuming raw or undercooked meats may increase your risk of foodborne illness. The USDA recommends an internal temp of 145°F and resting for at least 3 minutes.

  • sirloin review

Did not overcook -was very excited when they arrived only to be disappointed-very tough and chewy.

  • Worth it

My whole family truly enjoyed it. Its taste is wonderfully delicious. They are very tender too.
    Will order again.

  • Inconsistent

Half of the steaks ordered were just simply wonderful. Grilled to a crust on the outside and a temperature of 118 on the inside they were all you could ask for in a steak. The other half however were a different story. Grilled the same way they were a tough chew with quite a bit of conective tissue. That is tough to swallow at these prices.

  • Fine

The 8oz were thick, on-weight, and on par with most Prime beef. The "6oz" were underweight (even in the package), about half the thickness of the 8oz (among other things making them hard to cook simultaneously), and on par with Choice.

  • Dissapointing

Have prepared all of the steaks so far using a sous vide/grilling technique. Parts of the steak were fine but all steaks had sinew hampering the enjoyment. Don't know if this is endemic to the meat or poor butchering, but it's unacceptable at these prices.
